Our Key Services

End-to-end inspection and expediting coverage

Supplier Quality Coordination — Specicast 01

Supplier Quality Coordination

We coordinate quality requirements between the customer, manufacturing partner and inspection team before and during production.

The objective is to ensure that quality expectations are clearly understood before manufacturing begins.

  • Review of customer drawings and specifications
  • Purchase order quality requirement review
  • Applicable standards and specifications
  • Identification of critical characteristics
  • Quality documentation requirements
  • Inspection stages and hold points
  • Manufacturing process requirements
  • Communication of customer-specific requirements
  • Coordination between supplier and customer
  • Follow-up on quality-related observations
Supplier Evaluation, Development & Audit — Specicast 02

Supplier Evaluation, Development & Audit

A reliable supply chain starts with the right manufacturing partner. We support supplier evaluation, development and audit based on the requirements of the component and customer.

Supplier audits can be coordinated based on defined customer or internal requirements, covering quality, manufacturing capability, process controls and infrastructure.

  • Manufacturing capabilities
  • Machinery and equipment
  • Production capacity
  • Technical expertise
  • Quality management system
  • Inspection and testing facilities
  • Process capabilities
  • Material traceability
  • Documentation systems
  • Previous experience
  • Delivery performance
  • Process control
  • Quality consistency
  • Inspection practices
  • Traceability
  • Documentation
  • Production planning
  • Delivery performance
Inspection & Test Plan Preparation Support — Specicast 03

Inspection & Test Plan Preparation Support

For components requiring structured quality control, we support the preparation and review of an Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).

The inspection plan is developed according to the customer drawing, applicable standards, component criticality and specific purchase requirements.

  • Manufacturing stages
  • Inspection characteristics
  • Applicable specifications
  • Inspection methods
  • Acceptance criteria
  • Inspection frequency
  • Hold / witness / review points
  • Required quality records
Raw Material Inspection — Specicast 04

Raw Material Inspection

Raw material quality is the foundation of the finished component. Where required, we coordinate verification of raw materials before production.

Material verification can be coordinated through appropriate inspection facilities or laboratories where required, helping prevent incorrect or non-conforming material from entering the manufacturing process.

  • Material grade
  • Material certificate / MTC review
  • Heat number / batch identification
  • Chemical composition
  • Mechanical properties
  • Material dimensions
  • Surface condition
  • Traceability
  • Customer-specific requirements
First Article Inspection — Specicast 05

First Article Inspection

For new components, new suppliers, revised drawings or new manufacturing processes, First Article Inspection (FAI) provides an early verification of the manufacturing process.

FAI provides an opportunity to identify manufacturing or dimensional issues before full production quantities are completed.

  • Complete dimensional inspection
  • Drawing characteristic verification
  • GD&T verification
  • Material verification
  • Heat treatment verification
  • Surface finish check
  • Functional characteristics
  • NDT, where specified
  • Special characteristics
  • Inspection documentation
In-Process Inspection — Specicast 06

In-Process Inspection

In-process inspection helps identify problems during manufacturing rather than waiting until final inspection. Inspection points can be established according to the manufacturing process and component criticality.

In-process inspection helps reduce the risk of rework, rejection and delivery delays.

  • Casting / forging / machining dimensions
  • Critical bores
  • Hole locations
  • Threads
  • Surface finish
  • Hardness
  • Heat treatment condition
  • Visual condition
  • Critical process parameters
  • Intermediate NDT, where specified
Non-Destructive Testing — Specicast 07

Non-Destructive Testing

For critical components, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) can be coordinated according to customer and applicable standard requirements.

NDT methods, extent of examination and acceptance criteria are established according to the material, component geometry, application and applicable specification.

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT) — internal discontinuities
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI / MT) — surface & near-surface, ferromagnetic materials
  • Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT / PT) — surface-breaking discontinuities
  • Radiographic Testing (RT) — internal volumetric examination
  • Visual Testing (VT) — surface & workmanship examination
Final / Pre-Dispatch Inspection — Specicast 08

Final / Pre-Dispatch Inspection

Before components are released for shipment, final or pre-dispatch inspection can be carried out according to the approved inspection requirements.

The objective is to ensure that the component is ready for dispatch and conforms to the agreed requirements.

  • Critical dimensions
  • Runout
  • Concentricity
  • Flatness
  • Parallelism
  • Perpendicularity
  • Position
  • Threads
  • Surface finish
  • Surface defects
  • Cracks
  • Porosity
  • Machining defects
  • Burrs
  • Surface damage
  • Corrosion
  • General workmanship
  • Material test certificates
  • Heat treatment records
  • Hardness reports
  • NDT reports
  • Part identification
  • Drawing revision
  • Traceability
Third-Party Inspection Coordination — Specicast 09

Third-Party Inspection Coordination

Where customers require independent inspection, we coordinate third-party inspection activities with customer-appointed or mutually agreed inspection agencies.

This provides customers with a single coordination point between the manufacturing supplier and independent inspection agency.

  • Inspection agency coordination
  • Inspection scheduling
  • Supplier readiness confirmation
  • Inspection notification
  • Review of inspection requirements
  • Coordination during inspection
  • Documentation submission
  • Closure of inspection observations
  • Follow-up of pending actions
  • Final inspection status
Expediting Services — Specicast 10

Expediting Services

Quality and delivery are equally important in engineered component sourcing. Our expediting services focus on monitoring production progress and identifying potential delays at an early stage.

  • Purchase order release confirmation
  • Production schedule monitoring
  • Raw material status
  • Tooling / pattern / die progress
  • Production start confirmation
  • Manufacturing progress
  • Heat treatment status
  • Machining progress
  • Inspection status
  • Rework status
  • Documentation status
  • Packing readiness
  • Dispatch readiness
